TRAINING MAKES FANTASTIC HAIRDRESSERS

As owner one of Colchester’s most progressive Salons, Michelle Sadler is committed to investing back in to the business, premiering the latest styles, products and treatments – and that means a lot of training! ‘I re-invest at least 10% of the turnover straight back in to training,’ says Michelle. ‘Because of that I believe we have some of the area’s best stylists here and we are able to preview the latest colour, products and innovative treatments like the Brazilian Blow Dry.’

When team members took part in Fantastic Hairdresser training with industry guru Alan Austin-Smith though there wasn’t a pair of scissors in sight. The training is all about providing the ultimate salon experience and is focused on the salon environments as well as those added ‘feel good’ extras that leave clients feeling valued and pampered. Michelle says: ‘We want our clients to enjoy the whole experience, from the welcome they get when they arrive to the tips and advice we give them on maintaining their style at home. It’s about taking time to make every visit to us extra special.’

MICHELLE AND KAYLEIGH BRING VIDAL SASSOON STYLE TO COLCHESTER

Michelle and Kayleigh recently spent a week in London to take the Vidal Sassoon Academy Salon Creative advanced training course. Designed and run by some of the world’s top stylists, this intensive training focuses on the latest innovative cutting techniques as well as inspiring new ways to work on classic styles. They returned from the Sassoon Academy full of new ideas and with a portfolio of exciting new looks and trends.

Michelle said: ‘The whole week was based around cutting, looking at more precise ways of working and experimenting with styles that will be on trend this year. Salon Creative is designed for experienced stylists who have been working the floor for a long time. I’ve been cutting hair for 20 years and it is always exciting to come away with new ideas and techniques.’

NICOLA’S ABC TRAINING

Diva’s new full-time stylist Nicola headed for the Vidal Sassoon Academy to take part in the ten-day intensive abc Cutting training. The course is a week devoted to the touchstone techniques used by Sassoon trained stylists, perfecting lines, graduation, layering and their combinations. Nicola also completed the Advanced Cut and Colour training with Goldwell’s award-winning Terri Kay. Next on Nicola’s training agenda is Men’s Creative Colouring and Cutting with global award-winning hairdresser Lisa Whiteman.

WELCOME LEWIS & JACK AND WELCOME BACK CHELSEA!

We are delighted to welcome two new members of staff. Lewis has joined Divas as a trainee having already worked at Toni & Guy. Jack is also with us as a trainee and both are already firm favourites with the Divas team and our clients. Client’s favourite Chelsea has returned to us part-time and it’s great to see her back in the salon.
